Ms. Thirza Amina Asanga-Rae is a Nigerian-born British national who holds a BA (Hons) in Business and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Labour and Trade Union Studies. Her diverse background brings valuable perspectives to our organization.
Her career began in railway services, where she rose through the ranks at GNER, Virgin Trains, and TransPennine Express. This experience in the transport sector provided her with valuable insights into operations, customer service, and organizational management.
Her engagement with trade unions sparked a passion for activism, leading to representation roles with TSSA, UNITE, and as former Chair of the Greater Manchester Tenants Union. This activism has been central to her commitment to social justice and community empowerment.
